stop asking why you're so exhausted

Of course you're tired.

School just started. Your body is still half in summer mode. You're getting up early again, but bedtime is still late because summer nights trained you that way. Then you stack fall sports. Homework. Practice. Early alarms. A brain that never really shuts off.

Your body is working hard.

Your brain is working hard.

So of course you're exhausted.

And still, so many of you keep asking the same question like something is wrong with you.

Why am I so tired?

Why can't I just push through?

Everyone else seems fine.

Then the self-talk gets mean. You decide you should be running at 100% all the time. You treat rest like a character flaw. You show up drained and then beat yourself up for being drained.

That is a lot to put on a person who just got thrown back into a full routine.

your body is not broken

You are not lazy.

You are not falling behind because you need sleep.

You are adjusting.

Summer to school is a real shift. Early mornings after late nights. New schedules. Sports that ask for everything. Homework that stacks up. Social plans that keep coming even when your eyes are already heavy.

Your system is catching up.

It is allowed to need recovery.

If you keep expecting yourself to feel fully charged every day in the first stretch of school, you will always feel like you're failing a test nobody else can see.

listen to your body (for real)

This is the part I want you to practice.

If it's Friday night and you're dreaming of your bed, you don't have the energy for a social scene, and you don't even want to get ready… that is information.

Say no. Stay home. Rest.

You do not owe the party your last bit of energy.

If you're more of an extrovert and hanging out on the weekend actually fills you up, great. Do that. Just cut the hangout time in half so you can still get home and get the rest your body is asking for.

Social time can be good.

Running on empty is not the same thing.

Taking care of you is not selfish.

You are the only one who can do it from the inside.

what rest can look like

Rest does not have to be some perfect wellness routine.

It can look like:

- vegging out with a show, phone put away

- a walk with no phone

- sitting outside for a few minutes

- anything that actually relaxes you

Not more productivity dressed up as self-care. Actual recovery.

the reframe

Stop asking why you're so exhausted like it's a mystery.

You're tired because your life just got loud again.

Your schedule got heavy again.

Your body and brain are doing a lot.

So rest. Say no when your body is already saying no.Choose the half hangout instead of the all-nighter version of fun.

You don't have to earn the right to feel human.

If this season feels bigger than tired, and you want support figuring out who you're becoming without burning out in the process, I'm here.
